Spending 24 hours with Samsung Galaxy Ring!!

The Samsung Galaxy Ring has been eagerly anticipated as Samsung steps into the smart ring market, traditionally dominated by start-ups like Oura, Ringconn, and Ultrahuman. As one of the first major tech companies to heavily invest in this category, all eyes are on Samsung's latest innovation.
As a wearable technology still in its early stages, I’m excited to see how this discreet, comfortable, and stylish alternative to wrist wearables will evolve. After finally getting my hands on it, I charged its engagement-ring-style case, slipped the ring on, and paired it with my Oppo Find X5 Pro using Samsung Health, rather than a Samsung phone, to test compatibility with non-Samsung devices.
So, what’s it like to wear the ring? Is the information useful? Does it look good? Will a wizard show up and ask you to take it to Mordor?* Here’s everything I learned after my first 24 hours with the Samsung Galaxy Ring.
Comfort and style

The Galaxy Ring impresses with its sleek Titanium Black design. It offers a liberating alternative to wearing a watch, especially the bulky Ultra. The ability to use the powerful Ultra for GPS workouts and daily wear, while taking it off in the evenings and overnight, is fantastic.
For formal events, I can pair a stylish analog watch with the Ring, continuing to track my health discreetly. This versatility means I can stay in "cyborg mode" without anyone knowing. The Ring is also practical for resistance training; I can take it off during workouts to avoid scratches and rely on the Ultra for tracking.
Wearing the Ring overnight is very comfortable. Although my sample size was a bit larger than usual, it fits well and stays in place. The Ring had no trouble monitoring my vitals during waking hours and overnight. After 24 hours of use, the battery life had only decreased by 11%, which is impressive.
Statistics and information

Every morning, the Ring syncs data to Samsung Health, providing an Energy Score based on factors like sleep duration, consistency, heart rate, and daily activity. While my first night's data was incomplete, the Ring accurately identified my wake-up time and reflected my activities, including my elevated heart rate due to an evening with family and some wine.
Despite my high Sleep Score, my Energy Score was lower due to the increased heart rate. The Ring also noted that I should have been more active, although it missed my earlier workout. The Galaxy AI does a commendable job of generating an accurate Energy Score based on available data.
So is it good?

The Samsung Galaxy Ring is impressive and works seamlessly with any Android phone running Samsung Health. Although it lacks some features of the Oura Ring, like timeline tagging, its AI-powered suggestions and accurate sleep tracking make it a strong contender in the market. The $400 price tag might be a barrier for some, but the enthusiastic pre-order response suggests strong demand.
In summary, the Galaxy Ring offers a stylish, comfortable, and effective alternative to traditional wearables. Stay tuned for a full review after more testing.
Note: If you pre-ordered the Ring from the Samsung store, you should be fine. Only worry if you found it under the Misty Mountains.
